HOUSE DESTROYED.
FIRE AT RANGITANE. An outbreak of fire which occurred at about 11.30 a.m. to-day totally destroyed the home of Mr and Mis E. 0. Alve at Rangitane. Mr Alve was busy on the farm and his wife urns in the wash-house when the outbreak was discovered. The dwelling was a woodden one of four rooms. Mrs Alve had returned to the house and opened the back door when she was greeted by flames and smoke. The lire bad such a firm hold that nothing could be done to save the building, but a party of men who arrived on the scene formed a bucket brigade and saved the outbuildings from destruction. . ~ • Except for a little bedding, nothing was saved from the interior of the house It is understood that both the dwelling and the furniture are covered by insurance. . The origin of the outbreak is unknown.
