WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.

YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. Business was slightly more active yesterday on the Wellington Stock Exchange, the improved tone of the last few days being still evidence. Prices generally, however, showed little movement. Government loans attracted more interest. Prices were steady and more offers were quoted. The 4 per cent stock, 1949, sold at £lO9 10s, this being the only recorded business. There were severul dealings in bank shares, Commercial of Australia selling at 16s sd, New South Wales at £32 2s 6d, and Reserve Bank at £6 9s. New Zealand eased to 50s, sellers 50s 6d. Mortgage Corporation improved slightly in dealings at 5s 8d and 5s 7d, more being wanted at the latter, figure. Goldsbrough Morts weakened to 28s 9d, sellers 29s 3d, and Dalgety were a little easior at £8 3s, New Zealand Insurance were down at 61s. More interest was shown in industrial and trading issues. Minor changes were seen in breweries. Broken Hill Proprietary firmed to 54s 6d, sellers 56s 6d, and the “rights” were quoted at 225, sellers 235. YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS.
