THE JUBILEE CUP. When publishing the trophy winners I for the season now drawing to a close, “Cross Bar” overlooked the new trophy which came into existence this year—the Jubilee Cup. This addition to tli© extensive array of trophies owned by the Manawatu Rugbv Union was donated by Mr A. M. Ongley, the president of the union, to mark the Silver Jubilee of Their Majesties the King and Queen. Old Bovs were deputed by the donor to be the first | .holders —the blacks having just previously beaten Kia Toa —and the local club retained possession until Feikling j Old Boys lifted it on June 15. How- |
ever, tho new holders failed to survive the challenge of their fellow club team, Feikling, when the two clubs met in the subsidiary series, on the 14th inst., and the yellow and blacks thus hold the trophy during the off-season.
