INFLATION AT STUD.

SERVICES IN DEMAND. Tho six-year-old stallion Inflation (Paper Money—Fleeting), who is now at the stud at Awapuni, promises to have a most successful season, his services having been freely sought after by breeders. His owner, Mr H. E. Edmunds, of Palmerston North, decided to restrict his “book” this year and tho programme is filling very quickly. The first three mares covered by Inflation have proved! to be in foal, which speans volumes for him as a sire, but it still remains to ho Apen whether, his offspring will bo colts or fillies. Mares which have visited Inflation include the following:-—Hallowvonia (Hallo-mas—Mc-rivonia), Spearfonn (Greyspear— Merryform) ; Los Qucx (Lord Quox—Los Vegas) ; Princess Ruth (Hunting Song— Marccline), Brownie (Sarto—Ecartel. Cold Flair (Lackham—Sunfire), Eclspcar (Arrowsmith—Ra.rama). Divola (Diaqnenod— Avola), Etnboidcry (Threadneedlc—Accumulation), Lubriline (dam of Tcnaere and Sanguine King), etc. Several of the marcs arc young matrons and, as there is a variety in blood, the outcome of the matings will be awaited with interest. One district breeder, who had not intended carrying his activities further, felt that he could not allow tho opportunity to pass to mate ono of his mares with “the picture horse,” as he termed Inflation, and he. arranged a booking. In addition to the foregoing, overtures have been made in connection with one or two well-known mares who recently completed their racing careers, and everything points to Inflation being keenly sought after in future seasons.
