LINTON
(From Our Own Correspondent.) LINTON, Sept. 25. A social evening was held in the Linton Hall in aid of St. Columba’s Anglican Church fund. Most of the time was spent in dancing with items in between the dances. Songs were rendered by Mr J. Sandman and, Miss Sutherland, and a humorous item by Air Cole. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr Jos. Batcholar who also apologised for Rev. F. 0. Ball’s absence. Supper was served by the ladies’ committee, after which dancing was continued until a late hour. The committee were very thankful to Mr Caplc who supplied the music. Several visitors from Palmerston North were present. Influenza is prevalent in this district just now, and is taking an unusual form.
