VALEDICTORY.
PRESENTATION TO DISTRICT NURSE. Sister Smith, district .nurse, who has been transferred to Palmerston North, was the guest of St. John’s Church choir and vestry at a social gathering in the Parish Hall last night, A member of the choir for the past nine years, and a very valuable church worker, especially in connection with the Christmas tree, Nurse Smith will be greatly missed by members of the church. In making a presentation from the choir and vestry. Ven. Archdeacon j Petrie referred to the loss which the | church and Feilding would suffer by ! the transfer. The presentation comprised 'a handsomely bound copy of ; Hymns Ancient and Modern, which I the recipient gratefully acknowledged. Musical items were contributed by Mrs Campbell, Miss E. M. Taylor, [ Miss J. Revere and Messrs E. A. Golding and G. J. Fitzpatrick. | The petition from Feilding to tho Palmerston North Hospital Board praying for the retention of Sister Smith as district nurse carries over 600 signatures. I
