PHOTOGRAPHS FOR KING.
AN AUCKLANDER'S WORK. AUCKLAND, Sept. 25. Two studies by Mr 11. J. Schmidt, of Auckland, ar.e included in a portfolio of photographs from many countries presented by the Western International Photographic Salon to King George on the occ&osion of his Silver Jubilee. Other countries represented aro England, the United States, Belgium, Italy, Wales, Ireland, China, India, Soutli Africa, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. In response to an invitation, All' Schmidt submitted two photographs, “Heart of Oak,” a symbolic picturerepresenting the Navy, and “Te liangatiru,” a study of a grand-daughter of Tamati WakaNene. Both were accepted for inclusion in the portfolio, and a reproduction of “Heart of Oak” was used lor the frontispiece of the souvenir catalogue. There are 79 photographs in the collection. Mr Schmidt has received information this year that he has been success'ful at International Salons of Photography at Tokio, Leicestershire, Birmingham, and Barry (Wales)
