MANAWATU CLUB. The members of the Manawatu Ladies’ Golf Club were engaged in the medal competition for Mrs Innes’s points trophies yesterday, the best cards being as under: — A grade.—Mrs L. GOLDEN WEDDING

DIR AND DIRS E. E. INGPEN

PUKEKOHE, Sept. 23. The golden wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs E. E. Ingpen, Edinburgh Street, Pukekolie, fell to-day. The event was celebrated at the week-end by all the members of the family, comprising four sons and three daughters. Mr and Mrs Ingpen were married at Te Ante, Hawke’s Bay, on September 23, 1885, by Rev. Samuel Williams, later Archdeacon Williams. Mrs Ligpen was a daughter of the late Mi and Mrs Spencer Sutton, of Te Aute. After some years’residence at Te Aute, where Mr Ingpen was stationmaster, Mr and Mrs Ingpen lived successively at Takapau, Halcombe, Inglewood, Tiuhape Hunterville and Utiku. Mr Ingpen ’completed 40 years’ service with the Railway Department, . and after retirement on superannuation he and Mra Ingpen lived at Wanganui until their four sons returned from the war. About 15 years ago they came to Pukekohe, where they have stayed, except for short intervals, ever since.
