LABOUR CANDIDATES
AT GENERAL ELECTION. (Bv Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON 1 , Sept. 24. The only electorates which the Labour Party has definitely decided not to contest at the General Election are the Bay of Islands, represented by Mr H. M." Rush worth (Country Party), Kaipara, represented by Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, and Mataura, Mr D. McDougall (Independent Labour). Candidates for Hurunui and Mid-Canter-bury will be selected at an early date, but' the question of whether Franklin, Egmont, and Nelson will be contested has not yet been decided. It is expected, however, that there will be not fewer than seventy Labour candidates.
