(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, Sopt. 23. Mr W J. H. Bradnock, who has been eonncctod with the Otaki Post Office staff for the past few weeks, has received notice of his transfer to .Levin. Moving pictures were to-day taken of the Otaki health camp. , . A party, embracing residents of Otaki, made a trip to Kapiti Island yesterday in perfect weather. The outing was grcatiy n'oycd, with fishing, climbing and picmck--IIISI blue crane is at present to be seen on the" beach at Kangiuru. This is the first time such a bird has been seen on the beach at Otaki for many years. Thero hoe been a big demand for beach cottages at Otaki for the Christmas and New Year season, and practically every house has been let. The annual cye.e road race from Otaki to Paraparaurnu and back on was keenly contested. A large number of riders, including several from Wellington competed The result was a win for Russell, with Batten second, and Scobio third.
