At the wool sales 9958 bales were offered, including 6038 from New Zealand. About 7574 bales of Australian and New Zealand wool were sold. There was keen competition (or the better grades of Merino and crossbreds at full rates. Inferior wools were somewhat irregular. Russians were buying greasy crossbreds at hardening rates. New Zealand scoured Merino, branded, RR/T, reached 21 Id and averaged 21j|d. Slipe lialfbred lambs, branded Belfast, reached 15id and averaged 13id. BRADFORD TOPS MARKET. UPWARD RISE CHECKED. Received July 19, 10 a.m. LONDON, July 18. On the Bradford tops market the upward movement of Alerino tops has been checked, topmakers finding it difficult to make the last advance. Crossbreds are firm, with a hardening tendency. To-day’s quotations compare with those previously cabled as follow:
