SAWMILL BURNED.

BLAZE AT TARINGAMOTU. HEAVY LOSS SUFFERED. Per Press Association. TAUMARUNUI, March 23 A blaze which was seen for miles around last night destroyed tho Ta-ringamotu-Totara Sawmill Company s mill at Taringamotu, near lauraarunui. The planing mill, breakingdown mill, and other buildings were destroyed. The "mill was one of the most up-to-date in the district and the damage runs into thousands of pounds. One hundred men are rendered idle by the blaze. . . The fire started in the planing shed about 8 o’clock and within half an hour had swept from end to end of the mill. The fire-fighting appliances were burnt before they could be removed from the planing shed. Numerous mill houses and thousands of feet of stacked timber which surrounded the mill were saved by a favourable breeze.
