APPEAL DISMISSED.

A COSTLY CASE. Received February 12, 1.10 p.m. LONDON. Feb. 11. The House of Lords, with Lords Russell, Tomlin, and Macmillan adjudicating, dismissed with costs the appeal of British Celanese, Ltd., from the decision of the Court of Appeal and Mr Justice Clausen in favour of Courtaulds, Ltd., regarding infringement of patents relating to tlie manufacture of artificial silks. The case began on November 1, 1932, and altogether occupied 71 days, of which 35 were in tho Chancery Division and 17 in the Court of Appeal, with 19 in the House of Lords. It is estimated that the cost of the case is £BO,OOO.
