PROFESSIONAL CYCLING.

A meeting of the Cash Cycling Welfare League was held last evening, Mr W Collins presiding. It was decided tnat the opening of the track season be held next Friday at 6.30 p.iii. The following officials were elected: Judges, Messrs' W. Broughton and C. Cato; liandicapper, Mr C. Jamieson; starter, Mr T. Nutt; track stewards, Messrs C. Jennings, E. Burrell, E. Sylvester and J. Dobson; lap steward, Mr W. Rogers.. Donations amounting to £2 5s were received with thanks from anonymous donors for a points prize. This amount was divided into £1 10s first, 10s second and 5s third, prizes. Next Friday’s races will be half mile and one mile, with a B grade race for beginners, if warranted. A teams pursuit race will also lie staged and, M. Luxmoore will captain one team and C. Bailey the other.
