GOLF.
NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL
The monthly meeting of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association was held in Wellington, on Monday, when there were present: Sir Alexander Roberts (chairman), Messrs A. D. S. Duncan, W. E. A. Gill, E. Page, J. H. Drake and G. 0. Sutton (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Air A. R. Sclandcrs. The annual general meeting of delegates having" left to the council the matter of making a grant to the funds of the New Zealand Ladies’ Golf Union, it ivas decided that the association offer them a grant of £IOO for the current year. Correspondence was read from Mr E. Brown, captan of the Auckland Golf Club, -reporting his interview with the American golfers upon their arrival at Auckland en route to Melbourne on November 2, and a letter was also received from Mr Paul Runyan, who is manager of the team, expressing the team’s high appreciation of the treatment they received in Auckland and indicating that he will be able to reply by November 15 as to whether they tvill be able to make a tour of New Zealand upon their return from Melbourne.
It was unanimously resolved that tho championship meeting for 1935 be held on the Shirley golf links, Christchurch, church.
V arious rulings were asked for by clubs and dealt with.
