COLYTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) COLYTON, Nov. 5. A large number were present at the Colyton tennis courts on Saturday, when the club’s president (Mr A. Funston) declared the courts open for the season. Visitors were present representing Cheltenham, Aratika and Taonui Clubs and the weather was ideal. A yankeo tournament was held, the games being keenly contested, and the trophies eventually being awarded to Miss A. Clark and H. Merritt, Miss W. Wales and L. Newall being run-ners-up. The ladies of the club provided afternoon tea. Details are as follow : —First round: Miss J. McFarland and J. Welleans lost to Miss H. Hocken and C. Cheetham, 21—18; Miss G. Christie and C.
