NO FIRST-AID OUTFIT
RUSSELL STREET SCHOOL,
Comment on the absence of a proper first-aid outfit at the school in case of accident was made at a meeting of the Russell Street School Committee last evening. Advice was received from the Wanganui Education Board regretting that it could not accede to the application for the supply of a first-aid outfit. The chairman (Mr C. N. Rabone) commented that such equipment was necessary for the school, and the matter should be prosecuted further. The school was without an outfit- a.nd could not afford to purchase one. With proper bandages available for deep cuts, possible cases of blood poisoning might be averted. The board had not even offered to subsidise the purchase of an outfit. , . , , Mr T. Simpson agreed that such an outfit was necessary for the school. Mr W. H. Brown said they might purchase the outfit and charge the cost to the Wanganui Education Board The-headmaster (Mr F. C. Campbell) stated that splints had been made at the manual training centre, and some bandages were available. The board’s letter was formally received.
