Responsible Italian opinion corroborates Herr Franckenstcm’s view that tlio Austrian situation is less tense. The Manchester Guardian’s Paris correspondent regards Signor Mussolini’s warning telegram to Germany as the most important diplomatic event since Or. Dollfuss’s death. The Times’s Vienna correspondent regards the situation as still fraught with uncertainty in Carinthia, where guerilla warfare has accounted for 180 deaths of Government troops, while Nazi casualties are greater. MINISTERIAL COMMITTEE. Received July 28, 1.0 p.m. VIENNA, July 27. The Ministerial Council met this evening and formed a. special ministerial committee headed by Prince Starhemberg to fight terrorism. Prince Starhemberg appointed Major Fey as his deputy.
