FALSE FIRE CALLS.

A REPREHENSIBLE ACTION. Twice in close succession the fire brigade answered street alarm calls shortly after midnight last night, the first coming from the automatic alarm at tlie corner of Pitt and Church Streets and the second from the corner of Ferguson and Victoria Streets. While it can hardly be suggested that the same person was responsible for both calls, the position is one which reflects other than credit on the parties responsible, the authorities state. While the unearthing of these culprits is confronted with difficulty, ’an offender is liable to find tlie prank an expensive one should he or she come within the corrective powers of the law.
