WOODVILLE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) WOODVILLK, April 9. Captain S. R. Lanyard, chief officer in New Zealand of the Church Army, visited Woodville on Sunday. Miss M. Turner, of McLean Street, has loft for a holiday visit to Christchurch. Miss C. McClure, of 1 laiiraki Plains, is on a holiday visit to her aunt, Mrs R. G. Cunningham, Papatawa. The death occurred at. the Dnnncvirke Hospital on Sunday of Mr William Murray, of Papatawa, at the ago o,f 81 years.

On Friday tho Woodville Scout troop and Cub pack and a largo number of parents gathered to farewell Scoutmaster Foreman and Lady Cubinistress Mrs Foreman. Mr A. M. Pickering, chairman of the troop, expressed regret at the departure of the two leaders and wished them every prosperity in their new sphere of action. He presented S. M. Foreman with a fountain pen. The Mayor (Mr J. E. Elder) emphasised tbe loss to tho troop, particularly motioning the interest Mrs Foreman had shown in the little boys. Ho presented Mrs Foreman with a handsome hand mirror. Both recipients were accorded'musical honours. Mr R. R. Johnston and Mr A. 11. llustwick also spoke and the new scoutmaster, Mr A. Wiley, said he trusted he would be able to carry on in tlie same capable manner as his predecessor. Mr and Mrs Foreman suitably replied. The chairman formally instituted Mr Wiley into his new office. A welcome was also extended to the new cubmistress, Mbs Owen Bryson, and her assistant, Miss Mela Squires.
