RANGITIKEI.

MARTON, April 7. Arranged by members of the United Ladies’ Hockey Club, a delightful kitchen evening was given on Thursday evening in the Parish Hall in honour of Miss M. Stent, whose marriage to Mr T. Norris takes places shortly. The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Marton Lodge M.U.1.0.0.F. was held last evening, there being a fair attendance. Reports showed that one member, Bro. B. W. de Laurier, was on the sick list, suffering from a gunshot wound inflicted by armed robbers at the garage where he is employed at Auckland. Bro. de Laurier expects to be fit to resume work in about a fortnight, it was stated. There being little business, the lodge adjourned at an early hour and spent an hour dancing, supper being served before members dispersed.
