CROQUET PLAYERS.
TERRACE END CLUB. Members of the Terrace End Croquet Club spent a. liappy time at a function held last Wednesday afternoon, when Mes'd allies Gambrill and Scroggs were the guests of honour and were the recipients of bouquets. Congratulations were extended to Airs Gambrill on her recent tournament successes. She won the North Island singles championship at Rotorua and the championship doubles at Wanganui. She was runner-up in the Hawke’s Bay championship singles, and winner of the open singles there. She was a finalist in the English Croquet Association’s gold and silver medal events, and holds the silver medal for 1933. Tributes were paid to the services rendered by the past secretary,. Airs Scroggs, and appreciation was expressed concerning her work. Competitions during the afternoon were won as follow: —Angles, Airs Scroggs; French croquet, Mrs Spinley; golf croquet. Airs Moffitt; pegging, Airs Gambrill.
