BOY’S NARROW ESCAPE.

DRAGGED BETAVEEN HORSES. AVHAKATANE, April 9. A lucky escape from more serious injury was experienced by Brian James, the 13-year-old son of Mr T. \V. James, of AVhakatane. The lad was riding a Shetland pony and leading another horse, when a dog rushed out from a gate, causing the horses to bolt. He was thrown between the two horses and was dragged a considerable distance before lie was able to release himself. Suffering badly from cuts on the arms and legs and from shock lie was conveyed to a- nearby house, where he received attention.
