CAUGHT BY EXPLOSION
IN JAPANESE COLLIERY, SUCCESSFUL RESCUE EFFORTS. A STRENUOUS TASK. (United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received April 10, 9.36 a.m. TOKIO, April 9. After a gas explosion in the Fukushima colliery, near Fukushima city, between 60 and 100 miners were trapped behind a raging furnace. Following the explosion rescuers made most strenuous efforts and saved all the 130 workers, of -whom nine are in a critical condition.
