STABLE FIRE.
LOSS OF HORSES. SYDNEY, April 6. The yearlings which perished in the fire at H. Chisholm's stables were a. brown filly by Crosvenor, which brought guineas; a, black colt bv Resowing, 140 guineas; and a chestnut gelding by Diacqncnod, 65 guineas. G. Price’s stable contained Kuvera, Sir John, Whittingham, B'.ixton, Rnnchciro, Glads wood and several others which took part in the autumn meeting. Chat ham was quarter id in a box on the cast side of the arables and was never in danger owing to tii*3 wind being in the opposite direction. H. Chisholm lost polo equipment, harness and other gear valued at £'2oo. The fire is believed to have started through a cigar butt igniting coir matting in the arena.
