OBITUARY.

MR H. RICHARDSON. .The many friends of Mr H. Richardson will regret. to learn of his death, which took place in a private hospital in Palmerston North yesterday afternoon at the ripe age of 83 years, after a long illness. The deceased gentleman arrived in Bunnythorpe from the Nelson district about 33 years ago, taking over the Bunnytliorpe Post Office and holding tho position of postmaster for many years until he retired some ten years ago. Hr Richardson was well known for his untiring efforts in any movement for the betterment of the district, being a director of tho Hall Company for many years. Ho was made a life member of tho Athletic Sports Club and also took a keen interest in Church work, being a warden for many years of tho Anglican Church until ill-health compelled him to retire. Mrs Richardson predeceased him in 1929, and ho leaves a grown-up family of one son and three daughters to mourn his death—Miss Rose Richardson (of tho P. and T. Department, Wanganui), Mrs G. R. Donald (Bunnytliorpc), Mrs N. Grccnl.ow (Hiwinui) and the son, who resides in Australia. Mrs Carson (of the Bunnvthorpc Post Office) is a niece and Mrs R. J. Sutherland, of Napier, a grand daughter, and Mr J. H. Stevens, of Palmerston North, is a brother-in-law. The late Mr Richardson was appointed a Justice of the Peace sonic 20 years ago. — Bunnythorpo correspondent.
