SANDON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) SANDON, Sept. 18. A good congregation asscmbled i at the Methodist Church at Sanson when Rev. A. N. Scotter, of Palmerston North, conducted a servieo in memory of the late Rev. P. J. Cossum. Jn his address the preacher paid a high tribute to tho sterling qualities of tho deceased gentleman, who had spent 37 years in tho servieo of tho Methodist Church. During his ministry ho had filled many responsible positions and his sound judgment and knowledge woro often availed of by olther members of tho clergy. His labour did not end with church work; wherever he was stationed Mr Cossum had taken a keen interest- in public affairs and was always ready to assist in school matters or anything of interest to the young people. Mr Scotter closed an impressive address by making an earnest appeal for tho continuance of the work for tho church. Ho was sure that Mr Cossum would long bo remembered in all of tho districts in which he had laboured.
