MILSON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) MILSON, Sept. 16. The decision of the Wilson Progressive Association to cater for the needs of dancers in the district was a wise one, and on Thursday evening the hall was comfortably filled for the first of their regular fortnightly dances. In conformity with present day demands, tlie programme was composed entirely of old-time dances and a most enjoyable timo was spent by all. The introduction of the novel robber dance proved most popular with patrons, and the professional orchestra was obliged to respond to several encores. Mr E. Bulmer proved a most efficient M.U. The social committee served a dainty supper after which dancing was continued until 1 a.m. Patrons from the city wore well catered for, arrangements for transport having been made with a local taxi cab firm. Prizes in a Monte Carlo waltz were won by Mrs T'ooni and Mr R, McKenzie. In thanking thosu present for-their _ attendance Mr Buhner announced that, m addition’to conducting the social evenings each fortnight, the committco were holding a special' evening on the alternate week to which learners were specially invited, but all were welcome. A small charge for admission will be made. Mr N. Iv. J. Bruce, of the Palmerston North railway shunting staff, hastransferred to Auckland. His place will bo taken by Mr PI. N. Clarke, of Auckland.
