WOODVILLE.

WOODVILLE, Feb. 9. There was a very largo gathering at the funeral of the late Mr John Harding on Monday. Before proceeding to the cemetery, a service was hold in the Methodist Church, the officiating clergy being Rov. F. J. Copeland (Feilding), Rev. J. D. McArthur (Palmerston North),- Rev. A. N. Scotter (Palmerston North), Rov. P. J. Cossum (Sanson), Rev. A. 11. Scrivcn (Hastings), Rev. H. 11. Jeffreys (Dannovirke) and Rev. G. Knowles Smith (Woodvillo). At the graveside the service was conducted by Rov. F. J. Copeland and Rev. G. Knowlos-Smith, while Past Chief Ruler Brother 11. P. Horne road the Rcchabite service. The pall-bearers were Messrs J. Elder and C. A. Sutton representing tho Borough Council, L. Rendlo and J. Worboys (Rechabito Lodge) and A. Olsson and A. W. Corpe (Methodist Church). Many beautiful wreaths from friends, church organisations and public bodies upon which the late Mr Harding served wore received.

At a meeting of the Woodville branch of tho Hawke’s Bay War Relief Association on Wednesday last Mr R. 11. Morgan was appointed to fill the vacancy on the committeo caused by the death of Mr Harding.
