MEAT FOR BRITAIN.
RESTRICTION OF SHIPMENTS.
(British Official Wireless.) Received February 9, 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 8. Answering a question in the House of Commons, Major Elliot, Minister of Agriculture, said that he was satisfied that so far as they had gone the increases in the home beef and mutton pool prices were due to the voluntary arrangements made by overseas countries to limit the shipments to Britain. They were now negotiating for an extension of the period for the restriction of shipments.
