FIGHTING ATTITUDE
ADOPTED BY MUTINEERS. THREATS TO FIRE. Received February 9, 9.45 a.m. THE HAGUE, Feb. 8. As the mutineers on the training ship Seven Provinces adopted a fighting attitude and threatened to fire if the nearer, the pursuing squadron was ordered to get ready for action. It is expected to overtake the mutineers in the Strait of Sunda. VESSEL’S SLOW SPEED. Received February 9, 9.55 a.m. BATAVIA. Feb. 8. The latest report regarding the Seven Provinces is that she was proceeding along Sipora Island at 7 a.m., westward of Zeebloem straits at a speed of seven knots.
DEMONSTRATIONS AT BATAVIA
Received February 9, 9.35 a.m. SINGAPORE, Feb. 8. A message states that there were great demonstrations of loyalty at Batavia, Europeans, natives and Chinese singing “God Save the Queen” outside the Palace of the Governor.
