MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

Air J. L. Stout, S.M.. presided over a sitting of the Alagistrate’s Court at Palmerston North yesterday.

John James Ross was charged with being found drunk in a public place on February 7. and further, that on February 4 at Wi Tako, being a person released on probation, he failed to comply with the terms of his release; also that on February 7, at Palmerston North, he procured liquor during the currency of a prohibition order, issued at Upper Hutt on January 31 last. —Accused was fined os, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment on the first charge, fined £l, in default 48 hours, for failure to comply with the terms of the prohibition order, and sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for failure to comply with the terms of his release on probation.

James "Walker was charged with behaving in a disorderly manner on February 8 while drunk. Defendant was fined £3, in default 14 days’ imprisonment.
