KAIKOURA TROTTING AIEETING ABANDONED. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 7. • The Kaikoura Trotting Club has abandoned its meeting arranged for February 18. The club lost £2OO on its meeiing last year. DEATH OF RACEHORSE. JURY AWARDS DAAIAGES. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. Feb. 8. Damages amounting to £l4O wore awarded by a jury to Osmond Disley, who claimed £SOO damages in the Supreme Court for the loss of an unnamed three-year-old racehorse destroyed as a result of injuries received through a collision near Trcntham with a petrol wagon owned by A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd. WOODVILLE JOCKEY CLUB. EXTRA DAY’S RACING GRANTED. Recently, the Woodvillc District Jockey Club made application for permission to hold an extra one-day meeting in Alay. Advice lias now been received that the Racing Conference has approved of Saturday, May 27, as the date of the fixture.
