SEQUEL TO COLLISION.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. Feb. 9. On December 31 a motor car and a liearss came into collision at the intersection of Buckle and Taranaki Streets, and as a result Francis A. Strong appeared to-day on charges of interrupting, a funeral procession and failing to give way at an intersection. Among those following the hearse in cars were' several police officers, including a sub-inspector and two seniorsergeants. Although defendant pleaded not guilty, the evidence of the police witnesses was so much against him that the Magistrate, Mr Hewitt, remarked that defendant had run into a “hornet’s nest.” Defendant was fined. £1 for interrupting the procession and £1 10s for failing to give way to traffic approaching on the right. He. v*as ordered to pav costs £1 6s.
