In his report tho head teacher stated that tho roll number was 91, consisting of 53 boys and 38 girls, thus maintaining tho attendance of last year. It was decided that tho annual picnic be held locally, and that the school be closed for the occasion. The spot chosen for the picnic has been kindly loaned by Mr W. R. Kelly, and is situated on the river bank a short distance above the bridge over the Tokoinaru River.

An exceptionally .good artesian boro has recently been completed on the property of Mr J. R. Moody, aJ 9o\v of 25 gallons per minute having been secured, at a depth of 500 feet. The white butterfly has made its appearance hero recently, and as in other parts is doing extensive damage to vegetable gardens.
