GRAVE INJURIES

CHILD STRUCK BY ENGINE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Dec. 2. Grave injuries were received by Nalda Frances Penk, aged eight years, ns a result of being struck by the engine of a mixed train at a level crossing at Church Sti-eet, Te Papa, about 5.30 tonight. The child was crushed and she also suffered a fracture of the left arm, lacerations to the right arm and both legs and severe shock. Her condition is very serious.
