OFFICIAL CLOSING OF SEASON. To-morrow will mark tho official closing of the Palmerston North Golf Club’s first season .on the now course at. To Matai. During the 1930-31 season this progressive club was domiciled at the deviation and with unfavourable weather to contend with the members got very little golf. Mr W. G. Shannon, howover, let tho club have the Te Maitai country and once it was decided to make the change over, it was only a matter of days before the new course was bettor than the old. With favourable country so closo to the city and an executive out to get the best possible golf for its members, it was only a matter of lime before it became a question of limiting the membership or increasing the size of the course. In the meantime, however, the building of a club house had been authorised and an important part of the day’s programme is the official opening of the building, which will be performed by the club’s genial president, Mr T. P. Hart. The afternoon’s competition will be a mixed foursome, and it is expected the first pairs will be sent away about 1 o’clock. After the match, afternoon tea will be served and then the year’s prizes will 1)0 presented by Mr Hart.
