(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Nov. 24. The annual meeting of the Surf and Life-Saving Club was held last evening, presided over by Mr M. E. Perroau. The annual report was read and adopted. The balance-sheet showed an excess of assets over liabilities of £294 7s 6d. After congratulatory reference to the report and balance sheet by the chairman and other members they were adopted. Tli? election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr J. linklater M.P.; president, Mr Perreau; vice-presi-dents, Messrs R. N. Speirs, T. Chaffey, S. Austin, W. C. Collier (Palmerston North), Evans (Palmerston North); club captain, Mr G. Shaw; vice-captain, Mr M. Baird; coach, Mr R. A. Robbie; gear steward, Mr R. Chaffey; delegates to centre, Messrs A. Alsop and J. Barratt, secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Hussey; assistant secretary, Mr J. Barratt; auditor, Mr J. L. Christie; committee, Messrs W. Hirini, S. Austin, C. Parker, W. Thompson, E. Robinson, W. Adams. S. Bills, and M. Moore. The chairman made reference to the great assistance the club had received from Mr S. Austin, who had not only placed a shed at the disposal of the 'club for practice purposes but who had also presented the members with a useful and handsome silver siren for patrol work. Mr Austin wan accorded a hearty vote of thanks. It •was decided that, in view of the possibility of the championships being held on the "local beach this year, a tank would be necessary at the pavilion' and Mr Alsop was deputed to attend to this.
