SKIN, HIDE AND TALLOW SALE. HIGHER VALUES FOR SKIN AND HIDES. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., held their monthly sale of wool, skins, hides and tallow yesterday when there was a substantial rise in values in all classes. Bidding throughout was very animated. Wool prices generally were up id to Id per pound. Sheepskins: Dry sheepskins met with very animated competition with an appreciation in values for medium and finer wools of id to Id per pound, while other^ sorts were very firm to Id up. Salted skins were also very firm on our last sale. Hides: For both hides and calfskins the demand was excellent throughout. Lighter sorts were up Id per pound and others id to Id. Calfskins were in sellers’ favour by id to Id per pound. Tallow: Values were firm. The following is the range of prices: Wool. —Fine crossbred, 4Jd to sid; fine hgts., 4id to od; crossbred, 3d to 4d; inf. crossbred, lid to 2d; dead, lid to lid; erts., lid to 2d. Sheepskins.—Dry: Fine hgts., 3id to 4d; hgts., 3d to 3id; fine crossbred, 3Jd to 4d; three-quarter fullwools, 2id to 3fd; I-i wools, 2fd to 2Jd; spring lambs, Is Id each; pelts, lid to 2d; dead, lid to 2d; seedy, lid to 2id; damaged, 2d to 2Jd; inf. damaged, lid to lid. Salted: Pelts, to 6d ; damaged pelts, 4d to 6d. Hides. —Ox : Heavy, 4fd to 4id ; medium, to 4ld; light, to 4Jd. Cow: Heavy, 4d to 4!d; medium, 4d to 4ld; light, 4Jd to 4!d. Yearlings, 3id to 4ld; cut 2Jd to 3!d. Calf: Heavy, old to 6}d; light Ist., 3id to 4d; cut, 31 d to 3gd; slippy to 2|d. Tallow. —In drums, Ist., 13s to 13s 9d; second, 10s to 12s 6d; tins, Ist., lls to 11s 6d; second, 9s to 10s 6d.
