FINANCIAL RELIEF

The Prime Minister, Mr J. A. Lyons, introduced the Financial Relief Bill in the House of Representatives. It provides £1,700,000 in taxation relief, £2,000,000 as aid for wheat growers, £250,000 for other fanners and £400,000 in pension relief. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr J. H. Scullin, said his party would support the proposal to remove anomalies from the Pensions Act, but would oppose reductions in land and income tax.
