MORE CO-OPERATION.
NEED OF COUNTRY. Speaking at the opening of the new portion of the Hokowhitu School baths yesterday, the Mayor (Mr A. E. Mansford) in referring to the depression stressed the need for greater cooperation between the different sections of the community. “Too many, people are engaged in their own particular ideas,” lie said. “It is our duty to do all that is possible to help the primary producer. If the primary producer fails, we fail with him. New Zealand is a great departmental store and the only department of it that has saleable goods to-day is the primary producer’s section. Our policy must be that of the greatest good for tire greatest number Further sacrifices have to bo made in this country” added Mr Mansford, who pointed out that the economic conditions required action similar to that during the World War when sacrifice was general.
