A revolving strawberry bed is a, novel idea of Mr Alfred Green, of Nelson. Growing strawberries in barrels is an old practice, but Mr Green has improved on this in several respects. In a barrel of soil ho has some forty strawberry plants growing out through holes in tho side of the cask, and all bearing well. Down through the centre of tho soil he lias a perforated pipe, thus enabling him to give the bed a good soaking of water. The particularly novel feature is that the barrel revolves on castors, so that the berries may be turned round to tho sun, as desired.
