(From Our Own Correspondent.) TAIKOREA, Nov. 22. Although Saturday was wet, and heavy rain fell in tho evening and early Sunday morning, it cleared during tho afternoon though a strong nor’-westerly wind was blowing. It was under tlieso conditions that tho first cricket match on the Taikorea ground this season was played, when Taikorea met Mangatainoka. Play commenced at eleven o’clock, and tho cricket ground being adjacent to tho Coronation Hall, refreshments were served there. At the end of the game tho captain of the visiting team thanked tho local team for their hospitality and said they had thoroughly enjoyed the day. Officials of Taikorea team made suitablo responses. Taikorea were the winners by a small margin, tho final scores being Taikorea 115, Mangatainoka' 106. Tho sohool children are also cricket enthusiasts, and a match was played last week between Taikorea and Glen Oroua 6ohool elevens at Taikorea. The visitors were victorious.

The Taikorea Dairy Coy. is now making 33 cheeses daily and production is at its peak. The third assistant, Mr, F. Locke, is indisposed and Mr G. Cjstle is taking his place. Tho many friends of Miss E. Smith, who has recently been in hospital, will bo glad to know that she has now returned home. Mr F. Locke is at present an inmate of tho Palmorston North Hospital. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. Tho official opening of tho Taikorea Tennis Club will take place at Mr Richmond’s court, which ho has generously placed at the club’s disposal. Mr .T.
