NEW BUILDINGS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Regarding the description of Mr Berryman’s proposed new premises in Broadway, appearing in yesterday’s “Standard,” we wish to point out that this article was published without our knowledge, and contains the phrase “earthquake-proof” in relation to the building. We would like to correct this statement, as we advance no “earthquake-proof” claims for this or any other structure, beyond the high ' degree of resistance which is afforded by. scientifically designed and properly constructed reinforced structures of this nature. —We are, etc., L. G. WEST, SON AND HORNIBROOK. Architects and structural engineers.
