CHARGE OF THEFT.

COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 24. Matthew Prust Stewart, aged 37, a solicitor, to-day admitted stealing £2161 of his clients’ funds and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. One client, a farmer aged 75 said he had instructed accused, whom he trusted, to invest £7CO on mortgage. Ho received three, payments of interest on the supposed mortgage, but eventually discovered his name did not appear on it. Accused was allowed bail in £SOO.
