ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

& TOUR OF DOMINION. WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. The Australian Football Association ha-s invited separate teams from England and Scotland to visit Australia next year, playing a triangular series of matches, and has offered the English team for a tour of New Zealand next season over a period of four playing Saturdays. If the invitations are accepted the New Zealand Football Association is to pay £3OOO to Australia for the visit of the English team, and the usual expenses of an overseas team in New Zealand. Beyond this no further expenses are expected, and Australia will pay professional wages and steamship passages to and from New Zealand.

At a meeting of the council last night the finance committee reported that the expenses in New Zealand, including those of the N4w Zealand Test players, would be £ISOO, making a total of £4BOO. Against that, it would be necessary to take £6OOO in gates. It was decided to communicate with the Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Otago Associations asking if they were prepared to furnish the necessary guarantees.
