NEW BUSINESS PREMISES.

TO BE ERECTED IN BROADWAY. Further evidenco of confidence in the future of Palmerston North is given by the decision of Mr A. j. Berryman to have new business premises erected in Broadway alongside of the old Zealandia Hall, and almost opposite the Salvation Army Citadel. The land has been purchased from St. Patrick’s parish and plans for the building have been prepared by Messrs L. G. West, Son and Hornibrook. The work will probably be commenced early next month, and Mr Berryman expects to be in occupation at the end of February. It will be one of the most complete and up-to-date wireless servicing departments in New Zealand. The building, which will be of ferroconcrete and two storeys high, will be earthquake proof with business premises on the ground floor and offices upstairs. Recently, a considerable amount of work has been carried out in Broadway, including the Regent Theatre and the building for Woolworths, Ltd., and the new structure will mark an important addition to this business area. Another new block in the same locality is now nearing completion.
