WELCOME RAIN.
FALL IN NEW SOUTH WALES.
Received September 17, 9.50 a.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 17. Excellent and timely rain lias fallen over a wide area. State registrations of from one to three inches were recorded where rain was most needed, completely altering the outlook which in some parts was assuming a very serious appearance.
