WELLINGTON, Sept. 15. A request, that the 50 per cent, cut in tho sustenance payments made to men tor whom no work is available should be immediately restored, was made to the acting Minister of Employment, Hon. A. Hamilton, to-dav. by a large deputation representing tlie relief workers in Wellington. The Alinister stressed the desirability of the men being provided with work instead of with mere sustenance, and said he would be prepared to take the matter up with the Unemployment Board and the Wellington City Council.
