RANGIOTU COMPANY’S MEETING

Tho annual general meeting of the sharelioders of the Rangiotu Co-op. Dairy Co. Ltd., was held at Rangiotu yesterday, Air L. S. Pui'dom presiding over a good attendance. The annual report (as previously published) was adopted. The retiring chairman and Air At. C. Toogood did not seek re-election on the board of directors. The new directors appointed were ■ Messrs T. Heayns and G. P. Skerman. Air E- G. Beard was appointed chairman and expressed appreciation of the valuable services rendered by Air Purdom, voicing the suppliers’ regret that ho did not see his way clear to stand for reelection. ft was decided to make a pay-out of lid for August and a further and final payment of l-3d over the whole of last season. MANGAAYHATA COMPANY. There was a good attendance nt the annual meeting of tho Mangawlmta Co-op.. Dairy Coy., when Air R. White presided. Tho annual report was adopted. The retiring directors, Alessrs R. AYhito and J. H. Simmons, wore reelected unopposed and Air M bite was re-appointed chairman. It was decided to make a pay-out of lid for August supplies. The balance-sheet of the Mataura dairy factory, one of the largest cheese factories in the South Island, discloses that a payment of Is per lb butterfat, together with a bonus of 13, has been paid to suppliers for the past season. During the season 14 vats were in use, which gives an idea of the extent of the operations; during the flush of the season a surplus of 197.010 lbs of blitter was made troni milk separated. In all 23,553,560 lbs of milk were received at the factory and the total output was 1031 tons of cheese. It had been fully anticipated by the directors flint a payment of Is 2d would have been made, but a sugar-of-milk concern with headquarters in Europe, to which the factory had been selling its whey, went into liquidation. An asset of £420 «as thereby lost to the company.
